If you're anything like me, once you make a decision or set a goal, you want to move full speed ahead. You want to do the work to get there, see progress, and... get there. It sounds so simple, right? Wouldn't it be easy if it worked just like that without setbacks, delays, or struggling?
The reality is ... good things take time. This can be hard to accept sometimes, I know. It can be frustrating when you are working hard and not seeing the results that you want or are not seeing them as quickly as you want. Whatever the situation, whether it's trying to learn something new or lose the 5 extra pounds we've gained over the holidays, we want to know that our hard work is paying off.
What if we could look at things differently while we are waiting? What if we could expand our definition of progress to go beyond the end result of what we want to achieve and allow it to include the perseverance that it took to keep going?
Know that you are worth it. If you get tired, rest, but don't give up. Celebrate your progress along the way. Allow yourself to see what happens when you push past your comfort zone. Remember, keep going... because good things take time and you are worth it.
